Dance Performance

Firt Bridge builders experience:

Josefine´s experience from the Bridge program : What got you interested about the program ? I thought it's like a diverse invitation to work on whatever is important for you at this moment, like if it was related to working as dancer or choreographer or teacher. What were your goals for the program? My goal was to gain more clarity about my own pathway as a dancer, but also as a choreograph, and how I could combine all my interests together, like being a dancer, a choreographer and a dance teacher, in a way, and also how I can establish myself as a choreographer. And the whole process of it, I wanted to be a component for this, because I feel we are very much alone, Sometimes it's helpful. If you have someone you can talk to, you can reflect with about everything, and who also has advice in a professional level and knows your situation, because they're from the field, and they might have some other ideas about how to go about it. Was there something that you were a little bit hesitating before the program? I didn't really know how much time effort to expect to put in the program. So I wasn't not, was not sure if I could give the time, and also money wise, I always have to think like, you know, where, where I spend the money. And if you think about your time wise, how much you have spend for this? I think mostly it fits in my weekly schedule, but sometimes I had problems to manage all of it, because some weeks are busier, some less. And also in my work, I experienced that suddenly projects is coming like there's suddenly a project that I'm going to work in. And I also have a colleague who is rather spontaneous, asking me for availability and things like this. So things are always in movement and moving and quite dynamic. So I cannot really make always, like secure plans on everything. So this was challenging, but I think I because you also told me, then you don't have to stress yourself. You don't have to make the task in this week. You can take your time. And with this, I found a way then also to do the tasks. What kind of things you have got from the bridge program? The perspective, like the perspective I look at applications, or as on the visions I have like to to really be, like, self confident in the perspective, and to really believe in myself, but also in my goals. Like you said, Oh, you want to work for Pina Bausch company, then just go for it, like this, this kind of way. I mean, I didn't ask them, but this was with me, like it's still with me that I really should just believe and vision things also that they can become real, and if they don't become real, it's not a bad thing or something, but it's good to at least believe that vision and do something for the vision. Is there practical tools that will stay with you in your practice and in your work? I think the way I approach applications as a dancer, I felt very helpful the tips and infos, but also what you told me about being a choreographer and how to go about it, how to build networks, these things, I think they will help me in The future, and also they're helping me now. Was there something surprised you from the program? Maybe the creative task was quite surprising for me because I expected it differently, but it had so many different layers of outcome that I was like, wow, I could use this also again, if I need again, like some, some kind of help, let's say yeah, to go about topics, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. What do you hopes and dreams for your practice? Um, at the moment, I'm just thinking about the collaborative project for museum which I'm doing and also I will do some teaching. What would you say to somebody who is thinking of joining into the program? I would say that whatever their idea or vision is, they can go with it to you, and you will help them to find a way to do it like you will take the needs of the person and work in a certain direction.
